SERVING Jesus in Pamplin CITY, VIRGINIA with an Historic Past and a Hopeful future

Since 1859 Elon Baptist Church has been sharing God's redemptive story that is found in Jesus Christ.  The beauty of the gospel is that no matter what your life's story is, Jesus has come to redeem it and give it a beautiful ending. We continue to meet, as a collection of unique stories, to proclaim the wonderful story that Jesus is the way, the truth

VIews of the Gathering Place

Usually when a person thinks of a church, they have a building in mind.  Yet, too closely identifying a local  body of Christ with a building diverts the focus from the identity of the church as a community of called-out ones, as well as the tasks and functions of the church.  The Church isn't a building but it is a gathered people. The Lord has blessed Elon with a meeting place that has been in the community since 1859.  The beauty of the sanctuary and the blessing of updated technology to supplement our gathers is wonderful, but the church meets wherever the body of believers gathers to worship the Lord.

"For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.

Our Mission

“A healthy church is not a church that's perfect and without sin. It has not figured everything out. Rather, it's a church that continually strives to take God's side in the battle against the ungodly desires and deceits of the world, our flesh, and the devil. It's a church that continually seeks to conform itself to God's Word.”
